Strong Return for Investors in Sustainable Water Solutions

The Calvert Global Water Fund (CFWAX) has outperformed all its benchmarks since its 2008 inception, demonstrating the growing success of businesses working to address the challenges of growing water scarcity.

With the increasing global demand for water and lack of supply, the Calvert Global Water Fund gives investors the opportunity to apply their capital toward sustainable water-related technologies, services, and solutions.

Due to factors such as population growth, rising living standards, industrial expansion, aging infrastructure, water is becoming a scarce commodity. The United Nations predicts that by 2050, two-thirds of the world will be "water-stressed," with close to two billion people living in countries facing water scarcity. “The growing gap between supply and demand for freshwater creates a significant need for substantial investment in sustainable methods of obtaining and delivering water,” said Jens Peers, Portfolio Manager. “The rapid rate of global urbanization is also a problem, as burgeoning urban populations overtax existing water systems and heighten the urgency for new infrastructure."

The Fund is part of Calvert Solution Strategies, investment portfolios that selectively invest in companies with products and services geared toward solving some of today's most pressing environmental and sustainability challenges. Calvert Investments has been a leader in SRI for over 25 years.
