White House Summit for a Sustainable Economy

In June, Green America participated in the first-ever White House Summit for a Sustainable Economy, organized by the American Sustainable Business Council (ASBC) of which we are a founding member.

The event included the participation of more than two dozen Obama Administration officials and 125 business, investor, and NGO leaders on sustainability. The event marked the first time that so many Administration leaders addressed a single audience.

Fran Teplitz, Green America’s Policy Director, chaired the session on Energy & the Environment and made good contacts with DOE staff who expressed interest in our Clean Energy Victory Bonds.  The Energy & Environment working group within ASBC, which Green America co-chairs, is one of the Council’s largest and most active programs.
